KUDOS to
Cooper Battle who graduated from the Honors Program this Spring with
a 4.0 in Chemistry and a Baccalaureate degree.
Cooper served on the Honors Board for several years as Vice-Chair
and Chair. Whether it was bar-be-cue or mud battles, retreat was
never dull with “Coop” at the helm.

Cooper’s leadership, spirit of adventure
and unifying abilities.
Cooper’s initiatives included creating the Fall Invitational
Conference and an Honors Symposium. He loved Honors and took ten
different courses before he graduated including the prestigious
Culture of Man.
Cooper’s Baccalaureate Honors Thesis was titled: Synthesis
and Characterization of Methyl-2-Nitrosopyridines and he received
numerous awards including the Keith Lindley Scholarship, the Maise & Grant
Molett Scholarship, the Oran Robert Perry Burke Scholarship and
the Cora Mae Savoy Scholarship.

Cooper is now enjoying a fellowship in Chemistry at Tulane University
in New Orleans along with his wife, Jennifer (a fellow Honors student
at UL) and their dogs.
