That's right - ice skating on the swamp. That's just one of the amazing stories that goes untold about our wonderful campus. As you can see, hidden gems are a part of UL Lafayette's history. Depicted in this picture, professors and students alike skate across a frozen swamp in the year of 1962, just one year after the school was renamed from Southwestern Louisiana Institute (SLI) to the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL).

The digital archive was created to allow individuals to look back and admire the growth of the university from the year 1912 to 2014.
