The UL Lafayette Honors Board met on August 21st to discuss future events for the Honors Program. In attendance were the Dean and Assistant Dean of University college, our college, respectively Dr. Bobbie DeCuir and Dr. Ryan Teten. Both introduced their esteemed positions as acting representatives of the University College, which incorporates a number of programs meant to help students, from the McNair Scholarship to first-generation students, the TRIO program, and of course the Honors Program. Honors Board members discussed with the Dean of Students ideas for future expansion of the program, including additions to our building, transitioning our program forward, and community service projects for our semester we are participating in. One of these is the donation of used backpacks for the homeless, which are being collected in the Honors building. Additionally, Honors Board members discussed activities for this semester, toured the new facilities, and met with the staff to deliver new ideas that might help improve the Honors Program. Look for those this Fall. We congratulate all of our Honors Board members on their contributions, and we look forward to this semester. Per Sapientiam Felicitas.
