Oral Presentation Guidelines

Research presentations (papers or oral presentations both) must follow these guidelines to be accepted for the Undergraduate Research Conference:

  1. Presentations must be at least 15 minutes in length and cannot exceed 25 minutes.

  2. Presenter must provide own PowerPoint via sharescreen option on Microsoft Teams.

  3. Presenter should arrive/be prepared to present 10 minutes prior to designated time slot.

  4. You will need to download Microsoft Teams application if you do not have the software.

  5. Please only use the full Teams software installed on a laptop. Do not use the version on a phone or other device or the one through a browser to attend the conference to help avoid technical issues.

  6. Further helpful guides about Microsoft Teams will be sent prior to the conference to help guide presenters.

Guideline Notes:

Presenters are asked to abide by these guidelines as a condition of their participation in the URC. Please note that failure to abide by specific timing guidelines for oral presentations may prevent you from having adequate time to present your research.

Every student submitting an oral presentation must include a summary abstract of 300 words or less, which will be included in the conference program. (To be submitted on the individual registration form.)

Publishing with an Extended Abstract

Any research submitted is also given the option to be published in our online E-Journal proceedings. Extended Abstract submissions for publishing in the online journal are not the same as the 300-word summary.

Once you have ensured that your oral and/or paper presentation abides by the guidelines presented above, you can find guidelines for publishing at the link below.

If you DO NOT intend on publishing your research with our online journal, you can follow the link below to complete your registration form:
